Gephardt Endorsed by Wisconsin Assembly Democratic Leader Jim Kreuser

Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Dick Gephardt received the endorsement of Wisconsin Assembly Democratic Leader, Representative Jim Kreuser.

“I am glad to be on board and part of the Gephardt for President team,” stated Representative Kreuser. “As a member of the Wisconsin Legislature, I know first hand the difficult economic times facing the state of Wisconsin and our local communities. We need a president who can put our nation’s fiscal house in order just as our governor has done. Congressman Gephardt reflects our Midwestern values of working on job creation here in the United States and addressing the health care issues that are affecting all of us, especially the small business community. I am confident that with Dick Gephardt's experience and direction we will get that job done.”

Kreuser, a native of Kenosha, Wisconsin, was elected to the Assembly in August 1993 during a special election and has held the post of Assembly Democratic Leader since November 2002. Kreuser currently serves on the Rules Committee, the Committee on Assembly Organization, Joint Committee on Organization and the Joint Committee on Employment Relations. Kreuser joined Gephardt and Bob Friebert, Gephardt’s Wisconsin State Chair, on a conference call today with reporters to make his announcement.

“I am honored and proud to receive the support and endorsement of Jim Kreuser,” said Gephardt. “Jim is a very valuable addition to the team and I know with his help we will put together a successful and energetic campaign in Wisconsin around the ideas I’ve proposed to get every American covered with health insurance and to get our economy moving again.”
