EMILY'S LIST ENDORSES KATHLEEN FALK FOR GOVERNOR OF WISCONSIN

WASHINGTON — EMILY's List, the largest financial resource for women running for Congress and governor, today endorsed Kathleen Falk in her bid to become the first woman to be elected governor of Wisconsin.

"Kathleen Falk is a leader with fiscal management skills and a vision for strengthening Wisconsin for future generations," said Ellen R. Malcolm, president of EMILY's List. "She knows how to be an executive, manage a budget, and make government work for families. She is the only Democratic candidate for governor with the executive experience and the leadership skills to manage Wisconsin in these challenging times."

Currently, Falk is serving her fifth year as Dane County Executive, the top elected official in Wisconsin's second-largest county. Falk got her start in public service as co-director of Wisconsin's Environmental Decade. From there she went on to become a statewide Public Intervener, where she served 12 years as the state's top environmental watchdog.

"Under Kathleen Falk's skillful leadership, Dane County ended the year with a balanced budget while still funding important social programs," said Malcolm. "Kathleen's proven management experience and fiscal responsibility make her the best candidate to manage the state budget. Her success in balancing the budget while still improving Dane County's extensive network of human service programs is evidence that she is committed to strengthening Wisconsin's future."

In its 17-year history, EMILY's List has helped to elect four women governors, eleven women to the United States Senate and 53 women to the U.S. House of Representatives.
