GOVERNOR SIGNS FIVE BILLS INTO LAW
(Neenah)--Gov. Scott McCallum today signed into law five bills during a visit to the Neenah City Hall. The following are summaries of the legislation; for more details, see the bill-tracking page of the Legislature's Web site (www.legis.state.wi.us/billtrack.html).
·Senate Bill 360--allows local governmental entities and the minors they enlist to conduct unannounced investigations to ensure compliance with laws regarding underaged purchase of tobacco and tobacco products.
·Senate Bill 340--allows applicants that meet the UW School of Veterinary Medicine's residency requirements to be granted a postgraduate training permit without taking the national examinations.
·Senate Bill 413--relating to the regulation of massage therapists and bodyworkers, creating a massage therapy and bodywork examining board, granting rule-making authority and providing a penalty.
·Assembly Bill 507--allows the Department of Commerce to regulate commercial and industrial uses of anhydrous ammonia where it is legitimately used at a power plant, for instance.
·Assembly Bill 251--regarding the period of time during which sturgeon spearing licenses may not be issued.
