Statement of U.S. Senator Russ Feingold On Tests
for Anthrax Found in the Hart Senate Office Building

Yesterday, a letter sent to the office of Senator Tom Daschle (D-SD)
was found to contain a powdery substance that tested positive for
anthrax. Today, several Senate offices, including my Washington,
D.C. office, were closed by Senate authorities to enable them to test
for the presence of anthrax bacteria. In addition, my staff, and the
staff of other offices, were given antibiotics as a precautionary
measure. My State offices continue to be open and available to help
the people of Wisconsin.
